Application.FileSearch Object

I've noticed that Application.FileSearch doesn't work in Office 2007 or 2010.

Does anyone have an alertnative that will provide the same functionality?

The dir function works pretty well and is much faster

Any advice/help would be great! I'm not fantastic at writing from scratch so if you could tell me the code I need and where it goes I'd be forever thankful!!
