    interlinking workbooks

Okay everyone, so im after suggestions for this process here are is the scope and requirements.

    1. i need to perform a runnign 7 day average for a graph of a chosen month from a series of maintenance data. i.e for may days 01-06 will need to incorporate the last few days of april. now i have got the chosen month working i.e all automated etc, so that code works well.

2.what im after is some way to choose the month you want then choose the previous month, and then it automatically runs the other macro in the previous and chosen month (populates all the data) then copies the last 7 days into the chosen month for the average.

i was thinking something like this to choose the file:

but how do you get it to specify the filename for the second month and then do the calcs etc on it? thanks

Based on your last post it seems that you have solved your issue on your own but you haven't marked your thread as SOLVED. I'll do that for you now but please keep in mind for your future threads that Rule #9 requires you to do that yourself. You should also post the solution you found because it may help others having the same/similar issue. If your problem has not been solved you can use Thread Tools (located above your first post) and choose "Mark this thread as unsolved".
    Thanks.

but it keeps returning a range error. Lastrow is a variable which uses the .end(xlup) fucntion to count the rows. (that works for autofilling the rest of the stuff. thanks
