Copy row 1 from worksheet 1 to row 1 in worksheet 2

Hello,

I've been trying a whole lot of forums to gt the answers to two questions. i have attached the sheet i am working with.

On the "Budget" worksheet i am trying to copy an entire column to the "Budget import" sheet based on a selection via a dropdown menu

I.E. if the dropdown menu selection is "4" then copy Period 4 from budget to column B in "Budget import"

this needs 12 different copy past options.

It's driving me nuts!

any help would be very much appreciated!

see if the attached gives you what you want. i greated a range name for your periods, and used that for the drop down on the 2nd sheet. i didnt copy the formula down all the way, im sure you can manage that

May i just ask for one favor, i am new to this and i would like to understand better what your doing here, i understand that it's a reference check with the drop down, but i dont understand how it recognizes which column to transpose. would it be ok to ask you to explain the code you used?

Thank you for the help as well, this is also what i needed, and will work beautifully with some other work i am doing as well, so i ask the same question of you if you dont mind, so that i can adapt this code to work with my other projects.
