Thank you for this information but I'm going to try and explain this a little better.
I have a chart, 3 columns. In the first cell of the first column, I want to type in an actual measure of .786 but what i want to show up in the cell is actually the result of .786 MINUS .250. So what i want to show in the column where I typed .786 is .536.
Does this help?
is it possible to attach any sample workbook with dummy data ?
It will be better for imagine what are you looking for.
Thank you for your help with this. We got it solved with a work-around that involved adding additional columns, getting the results we wanted after using a formula string, and then deleting the extra columns.
Thanks again!

Thank you Cutter! Now that my problem is solved, perhaps I can spend a little time reviewing the forum rules! I was in a hurry for a solution at the time I joined. Thanks again!
