Non Select-able Items in Drop Down List

    Hi guys/gals!

I'm sure this has been posted elsewhere, but I can't find it... I want to create categories in a drop down list to add a little organization to the selections. I don't want these categories to be select-able, just visible.

I'm attaching an image to show what I mean. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Corialis,

Instead of a Dropdown, why don't you just add a Cell Comment.

    Hi Winon!

Thank you for your response! I prefer not to use the Cell Comment option because my client is very particular about how they want to form to look. Otherwise, I would be all on board for an option like that.

    Hi Corialis,

It seems that there are more involved than just the image you have posted. From your post it follows logically that you are referring to a spreadsheet, but now you are mentioning a Form of some kind.

If your issue involves a Form, there could be various solutions. Like for instance, adding a Label of some kind.

Maybe you should consider providing us with an example WorkBook of your problem and the desired outcome.

    Hi Winon!

I'm so sorry I haven't described my question with better clarity. I am using a form setup in excel with some vba and macro back-end.

With the image that I posted earlier, the code to go with what I have so far is as follows:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
As you can see, the code doesn't define the gray "- Steal -" part of the drop-down option I am aiming for. I just put that together in Photoshop to illustrate my goal/end result.

I hope this better outlines what I'm going for, please don't hesitate to ask if you need more info. Thank you again for assisting me with this project!
