    shiftwork rotation

    Hi guys. Help please.

I need to create a template to find out who does what on the roster at any given week. My week starts on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday. I have 8 people on the roster. The roster pattern is repeated every 8 weeks. I have enclosed a copy of the shift pattern.

    Many many thanks

Sorry, maybe it's me being dim but I can't quite understand what you need

If you just want to be able to play with the data and filter it for a given week for a better overview, why don't just create a pivot table?

    Re: shiftwork rotation

    Hi wakeupcall.

What I really want is that, lets say, in the 1st week, the position of everyone is what appears on the template that I uploaded. I would like to be able to see what everyone is doing in the 2nd, 3rd week etc. For example, in the 2nd week, A will move to week 2 and B will move to week 3 on the roster.

Hope this explains the problem better.

    Thanks

    Hi,

still not sure if I am getting it right but here's a spreadsheet with some formulas that reflect my understanding. I have created another tab which is presumably the roster tab where you have your source data. Then on tab 1 you have the following formula

    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

which checks the activity of each employee as found on the roaster data and another
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.
to check the number of the week in which the employee name is found

Is this what you had in mind?
