Hi everyone,
Hope to receive feedback on what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm making an Excel sheet in which project managers have to input a bunch of varying data/information. The data input is all in Column A. The data can be anything from long text, dates, addresses, dollar amounts, and custom text. Column B is meant for user instructions on what to enter in Column A.
For example:
A1 = blank (user input) and B1 = "Input the date of the approved project plans"
A2 = blank (user input) and B2 = "Enter the total project estimate"
A3 = blank (user input) and B3 = "Project manager first and last name"
I know I can easily display instructions/comments using the Notes function, but I would like to dynamically display the different instructions from Column B in a floating text box as the user selects the data entry cells in Column A. Also, Column B would be hidden to make the final spreadsheet look clean and simple.
So if the user selects cell A1 to begin inputting data, the text box would display the instructions in B1 (in this case: "Input the date of the approved project plans").
I've tried the following and a bunch of other codes just to see if I can display the selected/active cell values in the text box, but had no luck. Thought I could start off with the active cell and then build up to somehow make it reference the next column over but I can't even get this to work.
Sorry to be a bother if this or something similar has already been brought up. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
