Showing a user name in a message box if a workbook is read only by that user

    Hi all,

I have the code below (I appreciate it is not exactly neat or tiday but it does the job) which copies date from one workbook to another as long as the 2nd workbook is not read -only. There are, however, quite a few of us that use it, therefore how would I get the message box to show the windows log on username of the person who currently has the workbook in the read-only state instead of "another user", it will be easier than firing out regular emails to everyone if you can ask the person directly!

    Hi Mike,

Unfortunately that shows the name of the person who has "asked the question" so to speak, I need to show the name of the person already in it.

Alternatively, is there anyway to have a bit of code check to see if the file is open on the network drive before the user even tries to open it themselves?
