Assign a value to a cell

I would like to add a constant value to certain cells in a spread sheet. Fro example, A2 could be worth 20, H3 worth 18, J2 worth 22, etc. Then after I populate the spread sheet with names I can then get a total of all cells containing the same names. (Will = 56, Bob = 60, etc...)

Is there any way I can do that?
