Add-in creating links in Excel 2010

    Dear all,

I'm currently working with an add-in to store all my selfmade declerations, formulas and code in. This worked great in Excel 2003. However, now I switched to Excel 2010 my add-in keeps bugging me. The add-in automaticly creats a link with all my macro-enabled excel files (.xlsm) I use and keeps on asking to update. I don't want to link but breaking the link isn't an option. That way all my formulas dissapear.

Is there a way to use an add-in file without connecting it to another workbook? I've tried saving my files in different ways (macro-enabled, macro-disabled etc.) but the link keeps coming back.

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Daan

if you use udfs from an add-in you will always have links to that add-in. there is no way around that other than moving the code.

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

Thank you for your answer Joseph! However, are you sure about that? In excel2003 (the version I previously used) user defined formulas and code never caused any 'physical' links to another notebook.

yes they did-if you move a 2003 add-in the next time you open a workbook that uses its udfs you would see the full path to where the add-in used to be
