Problem with populating unique entries

I have a data sheet on which I store individual data on various indicators. These are individual lists (One row one individual) with names of the Field workers who helped them. I have 8-10 workers who will manage the task.
I have another worksheet, on which I am creating a data viewer- conditioned on selection of names. Now, I will have 8-10 field workers who will be responsible for registration of over 1000 people. I would like to enable the user to select the name of the Field worker, selection of which will then fetch out the associated names. Here is where I am stuck. If I create a data validation list for field worker names, I get 1000 different entries of those 8-10 names. Is it possible to populate the validated cell with unique names from the list? Please can anybody help me in this matter?
