Disable a color palet index # from being used on certain worksheets in workbook

Gday guys and girls

Is it possible to disable a certain color palet index number from being used on certain worksheets in a workbook?

I am using a dark color as the background for a worksheet in my workbook, but i want to stop this same colour from being used elsewhere in the workbook.

is there an easy way to disable this color from being used on other worksheets or would i have to go down the path of looking over each cell, if cell.colorIndex = myColor then change to newColor

Do not use the color palette to fill the cells, but use Styles. Define your own style.
