hello all,

I would need to create an Excel sheet containing a filename in the first column and the Windows
thumbnail of that file in the second column, a row for each file of a given directory.
I have found on this site several nice macros that create for each filename a hyperlink
to that file or insert a jpg picture of that file, but this isn't really what I'm looking for.
An hyperlink would be useless for my purposes because the applications that would open the files
are just too big and slow. And I haven't got any existing file picture to insert, and creating
one for each file is not an option, they would be far too many (tens of thousands).
This is meant to allow my colleagues to browse a directory content wihout opening each file,
basically similar to what Windows Explorer does in thumbnail preview mode but I have been asked
to do the same in Excel. One should either click on some special sort of hyperlink to make the
Windows thumbnail appear or have the thumbnail picture extracted from the Thumbs.db file and inserted
into a cell.

Thanks in advance
