Question Creating multiple drop down lists ending in stock data

    Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me, i have been doing searches for days and seem to be stuck

I have created multiple drop down lists , no issue with that

    HOWEVER

How do i link the last drop down option to a sheet full of stock

I have created a booking in form and booking out form, i have drop down list one, i choose say motherboards, drop down list two brings up the choice of 2011, 1055 or 775 type of boards, my question now, how do i create a third drop down link with my option to choose the brand of mainboard (have the data on 3 different sheets to match 3 choices of drop down) to my sheet with all that stock so i can enter in the actual mainboard that was used in the repair..

I have a drop down list with about 20 items, modems, monitors, cables etc, that then gives you the options for that area ie. choose modems in 1st drop down, second brings up adsl, cable, dial up etc, how then do i have a third option that than goes to the that sheet in my workbook that has all the products associated with that choice.

I have a worksheet with approx 20 tabs of different stock for a particular type of product that i use (i.e. modems, cables etc) for my invoicing software and would like to use that same data for my booking form i have created.

Would appreciate any help at all.

Re: Creating multiple drop down lists ending in stock data

    Hi,

I have already looked at that and it does not help me, Nowhere can i find a way to link other sheets of data as my third choice of dropdown, all this shows is using info listed on the sheets but n ot what i need

I want to use sheets that are already full of hundreds of products and add them as the third drop down box.

Nowhere can i find a way to link other sheets of data as my third choice of dropdown, all this shows is using info listed on the same sheet.

Some of my listings are 100 rows long with all my products, i need to go from drop down list 1 (product catergory i.e. Mainboards), drop down list 2 ( type of mainboard i.e. 1055 or 2011 pins) , have that already working, to drop down list 3 that then links to my sheets that have all the products (if i choose 2011 then i link to the 2011 tab that lets me choose gigabyte ga-65s as an example.)

How do i link my 3rd drop down list to bring up all the info on that particular sheet with all those products.

If i have misunderstood the info you have linked for me i apologise but as far as i can tell that does not do what i need, linking 3rd dropdown list to my product inventory.

    G'day Tristan,

Might be best if you knock up a dummy sheet with a small proportion of your info. With a before and after result. If more help is required.

    G'day Tristan,

Sorry for the late reply. Been a busy week.

I have a attached an example. Basically all you needed is too put a indirect formula in the data validation setting.

Remember when naming a range that your can't use special characters or just use numbers.
