Improving usability of addins in 2007 and 2010

Hello,

I've written some addins which create menus at n-1 position on the worksheet menu bar (i.e. I add a word before 'Help' and there is a menu hierarchy under it). When I install these addins on 2007/2010 the menus do get created but in a slightly awkward way. Please provide any advice you have on how to integrate addin commands more 'naturally' with the ribbon interface.

If you want you can also make witty observations about my question on upgrading from XL2003 and the current year.
