How to choose every other row to work with???

What i am looking to do is in one book. I have 6 sheets per book. I am needing to put a formula in say sheet 2, column A every other cell that will reflect every other cell in sheet 1 column A. I know there is a faster way to choose every other cell than going thru each one with the control button.
Any help is much appreciated, and many, many thanks in advance.

Re: How to choose every other row to work with???

Ok i think i can do this. Sheet 1 is what i will be getting the info off of for the start sheet and the set # sheets. Sheet 1 is reflected in the start sheet as even or odd. If 600B, sheet 1 is even it will reflect so in 600D. If it is odd, it will show in 600G. Columns A,D,G,J and M are the set numbers. C thru G in start sheet are what the numbers are in sheet 1, column B only. I thru M start sheet are sheet 1, column E. And so forth. Set #1 sheet is the reflection of sheet 1, column B. There is another sheet for each columns, B,E,H,K, and N of sheet 1. The first pic is sheet 1 and the second is the start sheet. I have 14 books of this that has almost 600 set #'s per sheet that i have put in all by hand. It takes me about 2 hours to put each set in by hand, and i have hundreds more to go. I don't know if i explained this to where anyone can understand it or not. If not, i will just have to try again. I put little arrows to show how what goes where to help explain. Thanks so, so very much to any and all.

i asked for a sample workbook...not every1 can open .png files, myself included. It would be far better if you could upload a sample of your file, showing what you have, and an example of your expected outcome. Thanks

I got ya. I hate to even ask, what is probably a ludicrous, question like this and feel like a bum for doing so. I am just at my wits end trying to figure some of this out. If i can see something like this done i can do it. I just haven't been able to find what I'm looking for on this one. All i really need is to figure out how to highlight every other cell in a column from the other sheets to put a formula in that will get the info from sheet 1. If that makes sense. Sorry about the png's. Wasn't really thinking there. Like i said, i have 14 books of this type of work and there are around 500 sets in each book, with tons more to go. All has been put in by hand and just takes forever.
    Thank you all so much!!!!

Hello all, just checking to see if anyone could tell me how to do what i need with this. It seems like a lot to explain and it might be, i really don't know. The main part of what i need is to figure out how to filter out every other row so i can highlight them so i can work with them. I really, really appreciate any help with this.

ok i asked for a file, and you uploaded 1 for me, so, thanks for that

on the other hand, i have noooo idea what you are trying to do lol. for instance, are you starting at sheet1 and moving to starter to #1A etc?
if so, i can see where you get the row from (i think its just based on the previous sheet's row, right?) but i cant figure out how you get the column

Re: How to choose every other row to work with???

Thanks FDibbins for even looking at this for me. As for what i am trying to do,,, your right on with it. I will put numbers in columns B,E,H,K, and N of sheet1. What i am wanting to do is get the info of every other row in sheet 1, put a formula in every other row of the starter sheet and the other sheets that will put the info in them like i have them on the sample. If that makes sense. The columns of the starter sheet are just the columns of sheet1 spread out. Say sheet1, column B is starter sheet C thru G spread out. I have each set# from sheet1 set up as even and odd set #'s. If it is set# 1 on sheet 1, that number in B will be either even or odd. Since it will be either, i have starter sheet set up to where D or G will get the info. That keeps me on the same set# and sets up a pattern that the eye catches easily, or easier anyway.
I really can't thank you enough for your help with this.

Re: How to choose every other row to work with???

Ok i figured out part of what i need with this. I really appreciate the help FDibbins. The problem i am having with it, is when i put the formula in each cell, it is putting an E for even in the formulated cell without there being anything in the corresponding cell in sheet1. Is there a way to keep it from putting anything in until i put the info in sheet1? If the number that i put in is odd it will change it like it's supposed to, but it shouldn't do anything until i give it info to work with should it? Thanks a ton again to any and all!!!
