    Cool Building a macro

I often need to generate an Excel file from our accounting system.

The generated file is in a fine Excel form but I always have to eliminate a few columns which I do not need.
The columns that need to be eliminated are always in the same places.

I have never managed to record a macro that will work on the file and even save it in a way that I can apply it to the next and next files tht I am generating.

How, or where can I learn the basics of macros that will help me with this?

    Thank you,
    Raphael

    Re: Building a macro

    Hi Raphael

Macros are just your actions in excel coverted to VBA. If your version of Excel does not have a Developer Tab you need to go into options to display it. Search on the web for how to record a macro and their limitations. I would recommend a book Excel VBA 24-Hour Trainer by Tom Urtis ISBN 978-0-470-89069-1 which Im learning from at the moment. You also of course have thsi forum to help with problems you come across. Check out the link below as well.

    Good Luck
