macro does not record choice made drop-down list in a web-query - Excel 2010

I have created a work-sheet to download data from an web. The URL has no passable parameter for choices of two drop-down lists made on the page displayed. Macro will not record a choice made. I have to download six different sets of data with specific choices for the drop-down boxes but URL being shown in each worksheet is identical. I attempted to record a choice made on each page but nothing gets recorded as to what choices were made from the drop-down boxes. Any way to post-modify the macro web-query to make a specific set of choices once on the page ?
