Userform closing unintentionally when saving "not responding" workbook

Hi!

My .xlsb workbook takes a while to save (5+ seconds). When it saves it often says "Excel is not responding" and turns white for a split second. When this happens a userform that should remain open at all times closes. I would like this userform to automatically reopen when this happens, or to prevent this from happening in the first place.

I have looked into a workaround that uses a man-made after_save event to re-open the userform if it is closed at that time, but to no avail.
