Update Masterfile Based on Criteria

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you could help/ lead me in the right direction.

Basically I want to update only one field of my master file (the date something is closed off) with out pasting over the top of other fields.

I have in one spread sheet next to my data a check to see whether the column i'm concerned with needs to be updated, if that check is triggered I want to update only that field for that particular item in my Master File. All items in the master file can be traced through via a unique ID.

Do you guys know of a way of automating this via a macro.

I apologise if this is not clear I'll do my best to re-explain if necessary.
