Question Ribbon button displays sourcefile name

    Can anyone help?
I have created a button in my ribbon to execute an other application, this works fine and I am now looking at the text that is displayed when hovering over the button. It displays OK only it also displays the file from which I loaded the button.(It's inside an xlam).
How can I remove this filename from the text when hovering above the button.(see also attached file)

I don't believe you can remove that text from the button popup.
You can alter the Screentip and Supertip text but the filename and F1 help are not customisable.

I agree you will not see that information for a built-in control. But you are talking about custom controls.

it specifically says that you cannot change or remove that and why. the registry workaround would only apply to com add-ins and not xlam files
