    Scope of Scripting Project

Hello. I am new to this Forum. I have written some very basic scripts and am considering a new one that is more complex and would like an opinion. The biggest script I ever wrote allowed me to enter hours worked and tips as a pizza delivery driver. The script calculated YTD totals as well as month totals. It had a very simple user interface. It worked ok although it kind of blew up at the end of the year (poor design on my part). I want to know if this new project would be considered appropriate for my level of scripting (beginner). Below is the project scope.

I have a spreadsheet that will be used by a small group of technicians. The techs will keep track of the work they do by placing either an "x" or an "!" in the relevant cell. I want to write a script that would open the cell Comment window so that tech can enter information. It is preferred that this be the standard Excel cell comment so that it can be modified if necessary. I would like to restrict the cell entry to these two characters. I'm not sure that it matters too much but the spreadsheet it roughly 40 Cols x 40 rows in size.

I would appreciate any comments or advice as well as links to educational text that I can start to read if this project is within my capabilities (or slightly higher).

    Regards and thanks in advance.
