    Counter for Opened workbooks

    Hi,

I am looking to see if it is possible to write code in VBA to see how many workbooks you have opened and modified.

    Any help would be great.

    thanks

Not sure if this will help you it indicates the number of workbooks currently open

p.s. it includes Personal.xls if you have one

    HI John,

Thanks for your reply, Will this give me the amount of bookes i opened and closed? The name of the workbook is all the same. Job.Xls
I am doing this because i am doing a program to open and cmodify sheets in a work book then close it the trouble is i have over 1,200 books to open and close so id like to see if they have all been modified.

    Thanks a million

    John

The macro provided will not do that. I'm a bit confused do you mean that you want to open the same workbook 1,200 times and keep a count of that?

    Re: Counter for Opened workbooks

    Hi John,
No sorry i wasnt clear with what i said earlier. I currently have 1,200 folders (Diff Part Nums) and in side the 1,200 folders there is an excel file called Job.xls this is a unique file for that part number. i need to open and modify each job.xls. So i would be running this macro over night and id be hoping that when i come in the next morning i would be able to see how many has been updated. I hope this is a wee bit clearer.

    Thanks

    john
