by running this soubroutine, line Set AcroApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App") throws this error:

    Run-time-error '429':

I have added these references to call Adobe Reader:

I don't think those are the references you need.

What Adobe software do you have installed?

I think what you need is Adobe Acrobat, which isn't the same as Acrobat Reader.

    Hi shg,

your code throws this error in line Dim AcroApp As Acrobat.CAcroApp:

    Compile error:
    User-defined type not defined

Attached there is a snapshot of the referneces I use. I have no clue which is the right one for the Acrobat.CAcroApp object, so I just included all that have to do with Adobe.

@Norie: Are you sure this not makable with Adobe Reader? I am asking because Adobe Reader is the read only version of Adobe Acrobat. All I wanna do is read the pdf.

    Regards,
    Lloyd

All the code I've seen for this sort of things is Adobe Acrobat.

I did find a useful link earlier, I'll post it later.

As I said, the only reference I set was Acrobat -- not Adobe Acrobat, just Acrobat.

    Hmm,....
this reference is not available in my list. Which version of Adobe Reader you have installed on your machine?
