Can't Insert Shape to sheet [1]

In sheet [1], I attached macros to different shapes (Arrows) and the file has been working fine. When I opened the file today, all the shapes were missing and I can't insert a new shape into this sheet? When I draw the shape, I can see the shape but on releasing the mouse the shape disappears? I can enter a shape in a different sheet but not the first one?

Hi Aland2929,
Is there a possibility that the shapes you are drawing are the same color as your form background. Eg. If your shapes default color is white with no border it will disappear when you release the mouse on a no color form background.

Perhaps:

File - Options
Select 'Advanced' section
Scroll about half way down to the 'Display options for this workbook' section and make sure 'All' is selected in the 'For objects, show:' setting.

Thanks for your response. Neither of the two suggestions apply. I have inserted a new sheet and re-created the shapes without a problem. I deleted the old sheet. I don't know why it happened but inserting a new sheet seemed the quickest solution.

Thank you for this suggestion, it worked for me and solved a problem I was having, and also solved another similar problem which I had already given up on. I appreciate your help.
