Call Form Control Option Button within an If statement

Hope you can help me. Im trying to call on a group of option buttons to make specific formatting changes to my work sheet. I have a single group of two option buttons, and want some cells to change colours on the selection of the first option button, and others cells on the selection of the second.

For example

Now to my eyes, that ought to work, but it doesn't. I have also tried nesting an if to account for the second button, to no avail.

Would anyone help me please?

Are the Option Buttons form controls, or Active X controls?

They are form controls. I dont have any experience with Active X controls as yet.
