    Question Delete Unseen Characters

My spreadsheet has characters that are causing unforeseen results. My database file has approximately 1300 rows and when I do a count it shows 3700. On several internet sites there appears to be situations when using Autofilter (Delete) and importing data which leaves unprintable characters. These sites have a host of resolutions that are reported as answers. Unfortunately most are for Excel 2003 and earlier.

I don't worry about speed because my database isn't that large. How can I remove these invisible characters in a database that has 33 columns and instead of 1300 rows do it for 5000 rows? How can it be done using VBA? My main purpose is to ensure when I count the rows and columns I get what is actually in the database. Excel Forum has given me answers to most of my problems and would prefer a programmatic answer here. Hope you all can help.

I'm running Windows XP and Excel 2010.

    Re: Delete Unseen Characters

    Hi, ajocius,

right now these characters are invisible to the forum software.

It might be vbLf, vbCr, vbCrLf for line breaks - could you please post a sample of what´s causing the problem (attach a workbook)?

    Ciao,
    Holger
