Formula vlookup does not update automatically in macros.

I have a problem with a vlookup function. It does not update after i start a macros. The macros takes the information between two files concatenate them in one cell and replace the existing cell in my database (one of those two files i meant) with the new one. The problem is that if i want to put again new information in that cell i have to save my database file first. After that i have to go to the other file and refresh the vlookup formula manually ( with f2 button and enter) so the vlookup formula now can see the data i've just entered with the macro in my database? How can i make my formula do this automatically without any save or refresh. Do i have to implement the formula as code in macro and how or what ?

Are you sure that you have calculation set to automatic?
When you say 2 files are you talking 2 workbooks?

Re: Formula vlookup does not update automatically in macros.

I am sorry but I can't help as I tried it with 5 workbooks with a value being altered in the first workbook via a macro and formula in that workbook looking up that value.
In the other workbooks I put in a vlookup to the first workbook and they all updated when the changes was made to the first workbook via the macro (in fact I also done a daisy chain of all the lookups looking up the previous workbook and they all changed when the first workbook was altered by the macro).

The only way I could reproduce the behaviour you described was to set the calculation to manual in one of the workbooks and so again I am sorry that I can't help due to the fact I can't reproduce the behaviour.

Of course you can, but please don't add confidentional information in it.

Maybe an anwer to your first question
I believe, the workbooks have to be open, if you use VLookup in another workbook.
    Are both workbooks open?
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Click Go Advanced then you will see an icon with a large paperclip (next to the smiley icon), click that and you can upload a copy of your workbook/s there.

However it is strange that the file which i created on excel 2003 is running the macros without any problem on 2010 version.
