Pivot Slicers from multiple Caches - problem with 2nd Slicer displaying incorrect data

    Hello Everyone,

Well I tried to make my title descriptive, but the problem is hard for me to explain. I found some very cool code that selects values in a "secondary" pivot Cache Slicer (Excel 2010) which are selected in the "main" pivot Cache Slicer. (These are different caches, the slicers do not seem to want to work across multiple caches)

    It looks like this:

This works really well....except if when there are values that exist in the "secondary" slicer which do not exist in the "main" slicer. The "secondary" slicer seems to keep all values that do not exist in the "main" slicer.

I need a way to fix the code so that the "secondary" slicer only (no more no less) selects the values that are selected in the "main" slicer.

    Ideas?

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards,
    Matt

you will have to change the logic and loop through the secondary slicercache items instead of the first cache

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

    Hello Joseph,

Thanks for the reply. So to be honest, I am not sure how that would look, could you provide an example?

    Many thanks!
    Matt

    Hi Joseph,

Thanks for taking the time to give this a shot. Unfortunately it isn't working.

It seems to just ignore changes to my "Main" slicer.

I will spend some more time with it.

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Joseph,

Sorry for the delay. I couldn't get your suggestion to work and I can't make an example file which I can share very easily. Then I was thinking that there should be a better way anyhow, so I have tossed the problem to our IT department and asked for a solution....it's their problem now.

Thanks for your suggestions and effort!

    Cheers,
    Matt
