Checking for single value, returning Multiple values

    Hi,

I was hoping someone can help me with a excel return query. I have three sheets, I want to check if a value is seen in column B, in this case Medlay, and if it is found return a series of values instead, e.g. Skill 1, Skill 2, Skill 3 and then the date in sheet 3
    Sheet 1
    Person Skill Date
    James Skill 01/12/2012
    Dave Medlay 02/12/2012
    Eric Medlay 03/12/2012
    Frank Skill 04/12/2012

    Sheet 3
    person Skill Date
    Dave Skill 1 02/12/2012
    Dave Skill 2 02/12/2012
    Dave Skill 3 02/12/2012
    Eric Skill 1 03/12/2012
    Eric Skill 2 03/12/2012
    Eric Skill 3 03/12/2012

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks

    James

Just to clarify .... If "Medlay" is found in column B, copy the corresponding name from column A to Sheet3 three times with Skill 1, Skill 2 and Skill 3 beside the names and then the date in column C. Is that correct? What date would you like in column C ... today's date or the date from column C in Sheet1?

    Hi Mumps,

Yeah that's exactly it, as for the date if it could be the date that the skill was completed that would be great.
