Does VBA 'update' in a spreadsheet?

I have some vba code that is for a custom function. I used this function in a spreadsheet already. Does changing the vba code automatically correspond with an automatic update of the function in the spreadsheet?

SOLVED: apparently it doesn't...although updating it is rather easy, I just double clicked on the lower right black box of a cell with the formula.
