Hyperlink problem.. Get rid of %20

Hi all

I have an excel sheet, where are stored records about new installations. An excel file created for each installation and stored in a folder on a disk D:\. So there are over than 900 excel files.

After "OK" button is pressed by the user, an excel file is created & saved in appropriate folder. All files named as: 12.02.2012 5889, where "5889" is installation number. There are links in main excel sheet. Each link is linked to appropriate file so anyone could open a file w/o searching in a folder

But recently, a space in all links were replaced with "%20". I understand, the "%20" means blank but also it causes a problem.. a user can't open a file by pressing on a link!

I wrote a simple macro which edit all hyperlinks... but "%20" stays after editing. Then I started removing all "%20"'s manually, but "%20" stays after I press OK button.

I can't use an underscore in my hyperlinks to fix the issue, because I will have to rename over 900 files...

So, what to do?

Are you sure the %20 are the problem?

If I create a hyperlink to a file with space in the name the address includes the %20 but the 'friendly name' doesn't.

How did you create the hyperlinks?

That creates the URL address, but how do you create the actual hyperlink?

this method created and still creates proper hyperlinks... But my old records are "corrupted", and do not open the file on click....

Solved by moving all data into new wb....
