New Laptop, macros no longer work...
I have 140 excel files all with the same output macro. The files use a vba script and write the output to the c:\
"Set a = fs.CreateTextFile("c:\" & filename & ".json", True)"
This worked fine on my old laptop but now with the new one I am getting permission/access denied, etc. errors when i try to write to c:
I edited the properites of the root c: drive so all users/authenticated/system etc. have full permissions but it still doesnt work. Any ideas?
Anyone have any ideas?
Is the OS Windows 8?
If it is you don't seem to be able to write directly to the root drive C:.
I tried changing permissions too but with no luck, so I gave in and created a folder in the root drive and used that.
Having a dedicated folder does kind of make sense.

No its windows 7 pro, fresh install of windows and office 10.
Changing to a folder would be fine, if it wasnt 140 files/macros that would need to be changed.

Strange, I've never had that kind of problem with Windows 7.
What happens when you try and create a file manually in C:\?
UPDATE: found the problem, i do not have privelages to write to the c drive. Need to get the IT guys to change this, thanks.
