Import textfile without delimiters but only selected files (rows)

    First hello all !

I am firsttime in a forum. I wrote some macros with the recorder and amend them for my work.
Now I have a problem by importing a textfile into excel because I need from the textfile not its 300 thousend rows.
I helped me with a temp. file. I skipped not needed rows with "instring" and wrote the other rows in a new textfile in the same directory.
And this new File I importe it with the importer.

Is there a possebility to do this in one step.
If someone knows a help ?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello entmayos50,

    Welcome to the Forum!

You should post two smaller text files. One with the original data and the second with the data you want extracted.

    To Post Your Workbook
    1. At the bottom right of the Reply window, Click the button Go Advanced
    2. At the top of the Your Message Window, in the first row of icons, Click the Paperclip icon.
    3. Click the Add Files button at the top right in the dialog box. This displays the File Manager dialog.
    4. Click the Select Files button at the bottom middle of the dialog.
    5. In the new window Find the file you want to upload, select it, and Click Open.
    6. You will now be back in the File Manager dialog. Click the bottom Middle button Upload File.
    7. Wait until the file has completely uploaded before you exit the File Manager dialog.

    File Manger Pic
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    Hallo dear all.

Sometimes it is better to try somthing by itself. I found this sunday afternoon a good way. 300000 records - read and extracted in 20 seconds - I think tat's not bad.
Many thanks for your offer to help. I don't know how to close this thread - please help.
    Sincerely
    entmayos50
