Replacement for Vlookup!!!

Hi ,
Please find the attached sheet.I need to apply the same principle in a bigger sheet.The vlookup in the current sheet is working fine.But i need a replacement for the current vlookup as the length of the formula increases if the no of rows are increased.Each new row increases the formula by one vlookup.
Another problem is that if i use the filter list.i.e. if filter the list to make one technology visible (say "a") the vlookup need to calculate the sum for only that technology and not the entire list.
Can anyone help me with a solution.
I need a different formula so it works well with the filtered list also.
