    Edit exsisting Conditional Format formula

    Hi all,

I am attempting to copy and insert a range of columns within a sheet of mine. Within this range of columns are two Conditional Formats that get copied along aswell, though they do no fill the entire range of the columns.

Along with duplicating the range and the formatting I wish to edit the formula of the Conditational Formats to reference new absolute cells.

Hence: Is there a way to edit the formula of an exsisting Conditional Format within VBA?

I have tried the following, with Error: 438 Object doesn't support this property or method.

Looked about and cannot find a way of doing this without generating a new Conditional Format with .add. Ideally I just want to edit them, rather than delete and generate new ones. Any suggestions?

What is the existing conditional formatting and which range is it applied to?

Can you attach a sample workbook?

PS Might be worth turning on the macro recorder and doing the change manually - should at least give you something.

Re: Edit exsisting Conditional Format formula

Hi Norie, cheers for the peek.

In the process of explaining the worksheet I had a lightbulb moment and worked around the problem. Split the conditional formats up to avoid using absolute cell references. Now any copying of them results in the correct formula every time. N9o need for VBA to edit them!

Not really a solution to my original question, but an effective work around.

Thanks for getting the gears going!
