Question Want to Remove A Non-Specific Text Strand Between Two Specific Characters

I am attempting to remove any reference to cells within a certain column, in this case AG, for example in the equation: $X54*$AG54+G$53*$AG53. I would like to remove [*AG54] and [*$AG53]. The AG column is referring to a multiplier and so any reference to cells within that column will be identifiable by [*AG] followed by a row number that must also be removed.
I have seen a lot of solutions for similar problems involving the removal of specific words, that seems like a much more simple process than this seems to be, I have tried to find a solution to this problem on my own but I have been unable to.
This is my first time asking a question on the forums, any help would be appreciated as otherwise I have a mountain of point-and-click work ahead of me.
