Search and select time interval in stock database

    Hi

Firstly let me apologize for the poor thread title, I really have no clue as to what one could call my problem :-P

I'm working on my master thesis in finance and during my data collection there has occured a time consuming problem. I was hoping you guys could help and thereby making the job a
bit easier for me. The problems stems from working with two separate databases. My thesis is about mergers & acqusitions, and their effect on the stock price of the target to be acquired. I have
one database that gives me the merger and acqusition data, what company that was acquired at what time. And I have to use that information in another database that gives me the stock prices
    for the target companies.

I have attached an excel file example that shows how my data is provided (In red tabs), what i need to move the stock prices into (blue tab) and how I am hopeful that the result will be after you guys have taken a shot at it. (green tab)

Up until this point I have worked manually with observing the aqusition period in the first tab (Acqusition times), then finding the corresponding stock prices to that period in the second tab (Stockprices) and copying that time interval
into the third tab. (Portfolio) It is a immensly time consuming and boring operation when you take into account that I'm looking for 10 years of data with an average of 300 mergers and acqusitions each year.

I've tried and experimented with a couple of lookup, mathc or index formulas with no luck.

Is there a way to make excel do this work for me through a formula or VBA?

    Regards
    Glanzy
