Transpose every other pair of rows

I am in need of a way to quickly transpose pairs of information. What I have is one column of data that should be split into two. The data for column A is followed by the data that should be in column B, then column A, then B again, etc. as shown below.

What I am starting with:

Item1
Salad
Item2
Bread
Item3
Milk

What I’d like to end up with:

Item1 Salad
Item2 Bread
Item3 Milk
