Combine multiple workbooks in to new workbook

I have a folder with many excel files but I need to combine parts of certain files based on certain criteria.

How would I go about creating a macro to open files FileA, FileB and FileC in to a new workbook?

Each file, though, has many sheets that are named the same. Only Sheet1, Sheet2 and Sheet3 should get pulled in to the new file. The rest of the sheets should not be pulled in.

Is this the best way? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Do they need to have the same names afterwards? That could end up causing some trouble.

Also, when you say "based on certain criteria," are you saying that you need certain data items from Sheet1, Sheet2, and Sheet3 of each file, or are Sheet1, Sheet2, and Sheet3 the criteria?

No, they wouldn't need the same names. I just need to get them all in one sheet.

Based on certain criteria: I mean that I may need to open Files A, B and C based on one criteria, or D, E, F, and G based on another and so forth.

    Thanks for a quick reply.

Okay, I'd recommend something like this:

I didn't include how you'd calculate the critera, since I don't have any idea what they all are, but hopefully that will help.
