hello,
i am new to ms excel, and i am working on this huge database, which has around 1500 entries on one worksheet, what i need is to create a custom search box in another worksheet so that it links up to these entries,
i am confused btw using vlookup or.. hyperlink & match combo..
kindly advice

Hi Praveen,
welcome to the forum.
If you wish to fetch data, use vlookup but if you wish to have a link, use hyperlink.. both are different concept altogether.

nope, i intend to search for a particular keyword in a given cell which would automatically match the contents in the 1500 workbook
in 1500 workbook ?
or
in 1500 rows of a worksheet in the same workbo0k?
