Need to insert row and perform the summation of data values based on values in column A

Hi Gurus,

I am new to excel macro but finding it very interesting. I have a problem where in my data set I have three columns, Department, Account and Amount. One department can have multiple Accounts and I have to perform the sum of all the accounts by department by inserting another row between the department and highlight the same in bold and underline.

PFA the excel containing the original data and required output.

Hi Sunil

What you could do is highlight the full range, then click the data tab, in the outline group click on subtotal, then ensure you have ticks in department and amount then click OK you will aslo get a grand total.

Thanks Kev, I appreciate your help but I am looking for some macro which can be used to do the underline of the added total and subtotal without doing any manual step.
