How to insert blank cell in column in row below cell in another column with certain value

Hello,

I think I might be in over my head with this but I was wondering if anyone can help with a way to get a cell to be forced as a blank when a cell in another column in the row above shows as a "$"? The $ represents a continuation of data. I don't think I want to insert anything in the cell I want as blank because if might cause all the other values to drop down.

And I also want the value in another column highlighted because it is technically an error that will always need to be fixed manually.

Any ideas?

The right list is the converted list.

If that's what you need (add lines to the left list and see), it can be fixed to change the original (left) list

The tables I put in are a very simplified version of the tables I have to deal with (several spreadsheets maxed out with more columns). They start looking like the first one and then I want them to look like the second one without doing it all manually like I am at the moment.

The name column needs to stay the same and depth column needs to stay as a repeat when a $ is on the row. I need the $ sign to stay on the first row and I need the colour line to be popluated with a blank (not inserted because I think that at will shift the whole row down). I want the adjective to only be highlighted on the second row with the blank because it will almost always need to be manually adjusted.

Any more ideas??

In that case unless you want to feedle with the code, I'll set up a tab containing the column # to be blanked, the column # to be highlighted, and the column # where to look for the symbol.
