Saved file from Excel 2000 to 2010 format and lost some Macro access

I had a file that I started years ago in Excel 2000. I upgraded to Excel 2010 and the file ran fine. I then wanted to take advantage of the extra formating features in 2010 and saved the file as a Macro enabled file. I have since lost some of the macro functions, namely the one attached.

I keep getting a message "cannot run macro (the file name) and then the name of the macro which is different than the actual macro. It is looking for _Add1() instead of the macro posted. I am unable to change the macro name or locate a solution.

I went back to the original file (which thankfully I kept) and tired to save it again and I get a message, "The name. add1, either conflicts with valid range reference or is invalid for Excel. The name has been replaced with _add1.

I did not save the file. Were do I go from here to correct this?

where is this macro located, what triggers it?
It is likely that when resaved, due to conflict that the trigger was updated to the new name and the source trigger needs to be edited back.

I think I assigned them (I have 32 of hen to change) to a form control button. I did this 4 years ago and I was very new at this so I probably just created simple form buttons and assigned the macros. I go into the assign macro window but I am not sure how to reassign a macro, also, I have tried to change the name in the vba code to reflect the name "_Add1" but it won't let me do that either.

Right click on button, choose assign macro, and then find the macro in the list.

I can do that but what do I do from there? I tried to change the name of the macro but it won't let me change it in the VBA section so changing it from the Macro list does not help.

Re: Saved file from Excel 2000 to 2010 format and lost some Macro access

    My basic question still stands.
I have a file saved in Excel 2000 that contains macros. I want to save it as a 2010 macro enabled workbook. When I try to do that excel wants to change the names of some macros and they stop working in the newly saved file. How do I overcome this problem?

Re: Saved file from Excel 2000 to 2010 format and lost some Macro access

    OK, lets try this.

When saving an excel 2000 file with macros to an Excel 2010 Macro enabled file, what does Excel look for in terms of changing macros to a compatible format. i.e. what do I have to look for in the original macro to change? As I understand it I cannot have a macro named "Add1". Excel wants to change the name of the macro to "_Add1()" and I cant get it to work in the 2010 version.

    Any help on this?
