    Macro giving #NAME error

I found a formula to use to have excel count within a range based on what color the font is. I used AltF11 and inserted a module, pasted the function and saved the workbook as macro-enabled. The formula was working perfectly so I thought all was well. But now that I closed out of the workbook yesterday and reopened it today the formula is now yielding a #Name? error. I checked to see if the module was still there and it is. What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you

    Re: Newb using Macro

Did you opened the workbook with macros enabled?

Yes. I made that mistake at first because I didn't realize that it saved it as a separate file. But I am currently in the Macro-enabled file.

No, have you checked the macros are enabled on Excel. Maybe they are disabled and that's why your worksheet can't find the function it needs, even though it's there.

    Re: Newb using Macro

security settings could be one reason, this would cause macro to not run. also make sure any references or formulae are pointing at the current macro workbook and not the original workbook. References to original workbook would have worked yesterday as the data was still accessible by program but would not necessarily be able to refresh now.

Oh, I see. I changed the settings to enable macro. It still is not working in the workbook I was using but I created a new workbook and I redid everything and closed and reopened it a few times make typical changes each time and it seems to be working. Maybe was a combination of both. Thank you!!

What should I change it to? That is my problem. I'm using Macro and I'm new at it. I not trying to be disrespectful, I'm being serious. Any suggestion and I will change it.
