    Excel value split

Hi this is a rather difficult one to explain. I have created an excel spreadsheet (attached) to help me explain.
In sheet1 I wish to create a button (macro) which once clicked places the quanties into the relevant cells in sheet2 depending on a) the date b) the file name in column B (sheet 1) appears in any of the cells in row2 (sheet 2). I know this is a difficult one to do but if anyone can send me a link to something similar or a starting point I would really appreciate it.

    Kind regards

    Michael

    Hi, Michael,

you could go with 2 Find-routines: one for the File setting a range and checking if the item was found and the other for the date. Or just look at the first two characters of the item and decide which column to use.

Alternative: add a new column with a formula for just the first two characters and use a Pivot Table on that data (maybe use a dynamic name for the dataset or a table).

    Ciao,
