Copy text from set range in one worksheet to named worksheet in another workbook

    Hi

We use a workbook to cost and quote customers and every time we requote an existing customer we have to copy the name and address from one work sheet to a new workbook and worksheet.

This would be in the range D2:D11

The two workbooks would be the only documents open in Excel at the time.

I've had a look and can't see anything in the forum history but, I'm sure that a macro where I can easily put the workbook names and then run it would work.

Any ideas would be very welcome.

    Thanks

you should be able to use

    =[filename.xlsx]Sheet_name!D2
    and copy down

now it will bring in the values from D2 down onto the new sheet
then select the range in the new sheet
copy > paste special >values and the details are permanently put into the new workbook and worksheet

    Hi Etaf

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I wanted to issue the spreadsheet to my 4 colleagues in sales. They're not particularly knowledgeable and I thought that I could provide a macro button that did this for them. Just not sure of the code.
