Data Entry and Formulas

    Guys,

Is tthere a way to have a formula programmed in a cell and when you select that cell instead of erasing it you entered the numbers into a certain part of the formula so it calculates with that?

    Much Thanks,

    CW

    Hi

I think you are going to have to give more detail on what you are trying to do, but in general terms, you can edit a formula and manually enter the elements. Something simple like =sum(5,10) will give you a result of 15 and you will have entered the 5 and the 10. But I get the feeling that is not what you are trying to do....

Or perhaps you can put those values in their own cell and then have the formula reference them? generallt speaking, you can either have a value in a cell or a formula, you cant have both
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Yes that is what i was hoping to do have a formula in acell and when i came across the formula have the number i enter at the time go into a specific part of the formula =sum(a6,b7)+sum("???",a3,b4,c6) so if that was in cell a2 if i'm currently selected a1 hit return and it selects a2 and i alone press 5 5 will go into the quotes.

I would suggest that you write the formula so that it references a cell where you can enter your value in
