Need help with pulling specific data from two rows and putting it into one single row
Hello,
Need some help...
I have 2 columns of data in Excel 2010 that includes configurations for equipment in our network. The data I am looking to put onto a single row is on various rows throughout the configurations:
I need to get the data in lines 1 and 37 into one row, and the data from row 101 and 137 into another row. The data in column A could be repeated multiple times throughout the sheet (it is a header for all intents and purposes), and the data in column B could be unique for the data in row 1 and 101, however the data in row 37 and 137 may be the same... Is there an easy to get this done? I have tried pivot tables, but it combines non-unique values, and sorts out of the config order (for instance, it returns data from rows 1 and 101, then data from rows 37 and 137)... If I could figure out how to get it to stop sorting that way, OR figure out a way to get the data to be in the same row, that would be great...

Hi
Is the data always going to have the same spacing? How is the "Identifier" structured? Is there a way to determine the identifier by its structure? Where do you want the output to go?
How about an example file that contains representative data (matches format, but does not show anything sensitive) and also contains what the output for your example data should look like.
