question about cascading drop down lists

    Hi all...
I am trying to facilitate attendance record keeping at my school. I already am using data validation so that the bookkeeper for the day can easily mark if a student is absent, late, etc... Recently we have changed our cell phone policy and we now mark if a student has brought one to school. Rather than a separate sheet/box/etc, i imagined it would be possible to cascade the drop down such that running the cursor over "present" would then give a secondary box off to the right with the binary option phone/no phone. I can't seem to find anything on this... Is it even possible ?

any help is so much appreciated !

    teacher_rob,

cascade the drop down such that running the cursor over "present" would then give a secondary box off to the right with the binary option phone/no phone.
I am not aware of an optional binary option.

    Your first validation would list:
    absent
    present
    late
    etc.

And, if you picked from the first validation list:
    present
    or
    late

Then the second list would allow someone to pick:
    phone
    no phone
